Do some Christians actually believe this?

I stumbled upon a website that looks like church forums, but I cannot decide if they are being serious, or are all trolling.

Crazy stuff.

One is tempted to invoke Poe’s Law which declares:

Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humour, it is impossible to create a parody of Fundamentalism that SOMEONE won’t mistake for the real thing.
In this case, after doing a bit of research, I am inclined to say that the site is a spoof but I’m sure lots of Christians think it’s real. You can read about it here . But does it really matter?

Have a look at Poe’s Law, its development, and its in-out relationship with Wikipedia; it’s generally informative and amusing.

The Landover Baptist Church site is a parody, though it’s a pretty realistic one. I can see how it might not be apparent immediately.
