Should atheists evangelize?

Christians already do it, after all. And who knows, the world might look a good deal better once ridden of religion. What do you think?

I’m not sure what you mean by evangelize.

I don’t tend to talk much about religion offline. I’ve had some bad experiences where people have taken it very personally and it has hurt the relationship, and unless I think there’s an honest chance of a change it’s not worth it.

It’s eerily like trying to talk to a 5 or 6 year old child about whether unicorns and dragons exist.

“Evangelise” is an unfortunate, Christian-centric word and in the circumstances I’d rather not use it, but I know what you mean.

If you think people are wrong about something important, and it’s adversely affecting their lives and the lives of others for them to think what they do, then it’s important to change their minds. I think it’s that simple.
